Bette Boersma made the journey from “subordinate woman” to one who is free and empowered by the liberating belief in biblical equality. Prior to writing and publishing The Second Eve, she worked as staff writer and newsletter editor for a large local church. She also published stories and articles in Christian periodicals, including the winning story in The Christian Reader’s 1993 writing contest. She did it while raising four teenagers, earning her Bachelor’s degree, and working as a writer. Currently she serves on the steering committee for her local chapter of Christians for Biblical Equality, speaks publicly about the things she has learned, and acts as a spiritual gifts consultant through her local church.
